The Board of Zoning Appeals approved administrative items including the 2026 meeting schedule, officer elections and a temporary change to meeting minutes.
The board voted to adopt the schedule included in the meeting packet. Members elected Lynn as chair and Tracy as vice chair by board motion and vote.
Planning staff announced a temporary switch to decision-based minutes because of limited staffing capacity; staff said verbatim recordings and transcripts will still be retained and can be produced on request for administrative fee. Rowan said the change is a stop-gap measure while the city seeks a long-term minutes solution and that verbatim transcripts remain available "if an applicant or a court asks for verbatim transcripts."
Staff also told the board the consultant CodaMetrics was selected to update the city's zoning ordinance and that three board members will serve on the technical advisory committee to guide and review updates. The board acknowledged member term statuses and pending appointment to fill a recent resignation before adjourning.
