Staff noted the site has no peripheral area or floodplain but that multiple agency reviews will be required, including forest conservation, stormwater management, health, and depending on egress/ingress, fire and state highway confirmation.
The applicant told commissioners the project remains at the preliminary stage while stormwater and perk (septic) plans are finalized and submitted. Staff advised that the state highway department’s review process has changed and that final access approval will involve the property owner obtaining confirmation directly from the agency and providing that evidence to county staff. Commissioners commented that the site is consistent with existing adjacent truck-related uses and encouraged the applicant to present comprehensive long-term plans where possible to avoid future amendments.
A motion for preliminary approval was made and seconded and the commission approved the request by voice vote, wishing the applicant success with subsequent agency reviews and final approvals.
