On Feb. 23 the Gilroy Personnel Commission reviewed harassment, discrimination and retaliation prevention training materials assembled by the city attorney's office.
Staff described two versions of the training: a two‑hour managers and supervisors edition and a one‑hour version for non‑supervising employees. The Human Resources Director said the trainings prompted many questions during sessions and that staff received positive feedback for the trainer, Kevin Lundis. "By after March 5, we'll be done with every single employee who has received the trainings, for the, for the 2 year period," staff said, noting an online module is available for new hires to complete within their first six months.
Commissioners reviewed the materials and confirmed remaining makeup sessions are scheduled. Staff said training completion will be tracked and that employees hired after the cycle completes will be assigned the online version during onboarding.
The commission received the materials; no formal action was required.
