The Platteville Common Council voted July 8 to schedule three preliminary strategic-planning work sessions this summer and early fall to review the city's mission, values and operational priorities. Staff proposed July 25, Aug. 21 and Aug. 29; council members raised Labor Day conflicts with the Aug. 29 date and agreed to move the third session to Sept. 4.
City staff said the sessions will be conducted in a work-session format with facilitation support from the Southwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission and will include council members, department directors and key staff. The dates adopted were July 25 (9–11 a.m.), Aug. 21 (6–8 p.m.) and Sept. 4 (9–11 a.m.).
A motion to adopt the revised schedule was made, seconded and approved on a roll call vote. Staff will circulate final calendar invitations and supporting materials to council members and departmental staff, and will report back on attendance and any necessary rescheduling prior to the first session.
