City Manager (unnamed) told the council the city is using pumps and an 8,000‑gallon tanker to move water from neighborhoods into school and private ponds and said crews will bring in additional county and state pumps as needed. He said Henry Drive was flooded into the high school, with "two feet of water" reported in the band hall and chorus room, and that crews had permission from a local nursing home to pump into its pond.
“The plan is to pump into the ponds on Woodland Elementary,” the City Manager said. “If those ponds are full, we’ll move the pump to the pond behind the nursing home.” He described contingency plans to extend pumping to county borrow pits if local pumping efforts fail.
