The staff explanation to the committee said the measure would allow students and school staff to administer a pre-measured dose of epinephrine via auto-injector, nasal spray or another method, noted there are no amendments before the committee, and reported minimal fiscal impact and no revenue implications. Vice Chair Nelson made the motion to advance the bill.
A committee member called the proposal a "Good bill. Should pass." An oral roll call recorded "aye" votes from Representative Harvick, Representative Gavity, Representative McIntyre, Representative Pham, Vice Chair Diehl and Vice Chair Nelson; Representative Munoz was excused. Chair Nuss was recorded as voting yes.
With the vote concluded, the committee closed the work session on Senate Bill 1504 and proceeded to other scheduled hearings.
