The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD school board on Oct. 3 voted 7-0 to deny a level 3 appeal and affirm the administration's level 2 decision on item 7a.
"I'd like to make the motion to deny the level 3 appeal and affirm the level 2 decision of the administration," said Miss Brady, who was recorded as making the motion. The motion was seconded by Miss Hatfield, and the presiding speaker asked members to raise their hands if they were in favor. "Miss Canada, please show that is 7 affirmative," the presiding speaker said, and the board recorded seven yes votes.
The record provides no additional detail about the appellant or the substance of the underlying level 2 decision. Board members moved next to item 7b and returned to closed session to handle that matter.
After the closed-session discussion on item 7b the board reconvened in open session at about 11:00 p.m. The presiding speaker asked if any action was needed following closed session; none was offered. The presiding speaker then closed the meeting and adjourned at 11:00 p.m.
