He said the total for both vehicles fully outfitted was $116,002.54 and that some additional radio and antenna work contributed to the total.
Council members asked questions about the scope of the package and noted the fleet discount. A motion to advertise for the package was made and approved by voice vote. The council later granted final approval for a $4,000 reimbursement related to a vehicle sale.
The sheriff said updated radios are essential because the county’s older 800 radios are no longer supported and parts cannot be sourced, increasing long-term maintenance and replacement costs.
