Staff explained the order is to replenish inventory of 35‑, 40‑ and 45‑foot poles for planned and reactive maintenance; several poles had been replaced recently and current stock of 40‑foot poles is low.
A commissioner said pole prices have risen sharply from about $400 a few years ago to roughly $700 for a 40‑foot pole, increasing replacement costs. The commission moved to accept the low bid; the motion passed on roll call.
Staff will process the order and coordinate delivery and inventory for upcoming projects.
