Zach (staff) said, "their sprinkler system in the building itself needs to be updated for fire suppression." The motion approved other listed licensees pending Dollar General’s inspection.
Contracts: The commission approved a county contract to fund library services at $25,000 and approved a two‑year recreation contract with the Goodland Activity Center (GAC) for $53,000, which includes programming and facility maintenance for city parks and the Centennial Complex.
Property bid: The commission awarded the bid for property at 321 Broadway to S and M Repair for $3,000 with a completion date of Jan. 31; an alternate bid was $11,000 with a later completion date.
Appointments: Kevin Ross was appointed to the airport board and Richard Hayden and Don Smith were reappointed to the cemetery board; the appointments were approved by voice/roll call.
Executive session and adjournment: The mayor moved to go into executive session under KSA 75‑4319(b)(1) to discuss non‑elected personnel matters; the commission approved the move to executive session and later returned and adjourned the meeting.
