Superintendent Andrea Celico and staff used the Dec. 11 meeting to present a Star Staff Award to Marguerite Bitteman of Richardson’s food service and to recognize Top Tiger students from elementary through high school.
Danielle Turlange described Bitteman’s day‑to‑day contributions in the Richardson kitchen, calling her a positive presence who seeks out students who need meals and helps create an inviting climate: "The students love going through the cafeteria line for a smile, a wave, or the infamous joke of the day." Chris Schroeder, a trustee for the Cuyahoga Falls School Foundation and Alumni Association, told the board the foundation awards about $150,000 annually in scholarships and classroom grants and that Top Tigers are invited to march in the Memorial Day parade.
More than a dozen students were called forward by school and classroom staff, briefly described, and photographed for group recognition. Trustees offered congratulations and noted the evening’s civic and community events occurring around the district.
