Board approves application to state facility programs; administration says placeholder does not mean Nov. 2026 bond
Summary
Board approved an application to the Classroom Facilities Assistance Program (CFAP) and a resolution for the Expedited Local Partnership Program to secure its place in state facility funding queues; administration emphasized the chosen placeholder date (Nov. 2026) is flexible and the district is not committing to a bond that year.

The board voted on Dec. 11 to authorize administration to apply for state facility funding programs intended to support future school construction and renovation.
Administration recommended applying to the Classroom Facilities Assistance Program (CFAP) and the Expedited Local Partnership Program to secure a place in the state queue. Presenters said the CFAP/ELPP process requires a placeholder election date to be entered; the district proposed Nov. 2026 as an earliest placeholder to position itself in the queue but did not commit to placing a bond on that ballot.
"We're not gonna be on the ballot November 2026 asking you for a new bond," a trustee said during the discussion, noting the board’s intent to be transparent with the community and that additional work — including cash‑reserve shoring and pre‑bond programming — is required before any bond is placed on a ballot. Administration explained that entering the queue preserves the district’s position; it does not obligate the district to proceed on that specific date.
The board approved the CFAP application and the ELPP resolution by roll call vote. Trustees also discussed reimbursement mechanics alternatives (district front‑funding and reimbursement vs. state pay‑as‑you‑go installments) and asked to remain vigilant about messaging to the community to avoid confusion that a near‑term bond is imminent.
