Operations Committee approves truck purchase, ratifies DCTV orders and backs Constitution Day; IT items deferred two weeks

Commissioners asked for clarification on license utilization and a report showing actual usage; the committee voted to defer both items for two weeks pending audit and further information.
DCTV ratification: The committee ratified previously issued purchase orders (5042721, 5042124, 5041864) to B&H Photo and Electronics (DBA B&H) totaling $180,187.81 to upgrade DC TV studio and broadcast equipment. A DCTV staff member said the purchases were necessary to improve service quality and that cooperative purchasing yielded cost savings.
Constitution Day resolution: The committee approved a walk-on resolution to observe Constitution Day on Sept. 17 and Citizenship Day on Sept. 23. Commissioner Robert Patrick introduced the resolution; Attorney Phillips credited Sandy Monroe and supervising attorney Suzanne Osborne as drafters. Commissioners expressed support and discussed timing to allow public acknowledgment on Sept. 17.
