She said the requested funds would be used only for tuition assistance in the 2026–27 fiscal year and not for salaries, building improvements or utilities. Tuition tiers are income‑based and verified with tax returns or referral partners in cases of severe housing insecurity.
Committee members asked how scholarships are applied and whether the school would continue programming without the appropriation. Loveland said the school would continue to seek private funding and that the request is a one‑time appropriation to leverage private fundraising for infrastructure improvements while maintaining tuition assistance.
