RiverCog approves TIP Amendment for Essex bridge project (Project 49113)

Rob, RiverCog transportation staff, explained the amendment encompasses three line items: preliminary design in 2025 ($188,000), final design in 2026 ($188,000) and construction in 2027 ($875,000). He said the structure is currently considered structurally deficient and that the state inspection will determine whether rehabilitation or complete reconstruction is needed. The funds are an earmarked allocation from 2024 and must be spent by 2027.
The motion to approve the amendment (covering all three line items together) was moved, seconded, and carried by voice vote. Staff said the amendment will allow the town and state to proceed with design and construction scheduling within the federal/state timeframe required by the earmark.
