The total project was described as roughly $300,000 with an initial public-engagement phase budgeted at $20,000; funding would be 80% federal/10% state/10% local, with participating towns having already provided match funds. Staff said if FEMA does reimburse prior submitted expenses the preference would be to use BRIC funds first and switch to transportation-planning funds only if reimbursements are denied.
Board members asked about procurement history and confirmed Newberry was the same team used on earlier work. A motion to authorize contracting and to proceed under stated funding contingencies was moved, seconded and approved.
