The board approved a resolution to apply for a state Regional Performance Incentive Program (RPIP) grant to support a shared finance officer that would serve Marlborough and another town that both face difficulty filling the finance director role.
Matt introduced the RPIP program and explained that the grant — administered at the state level — can be used to subsidize start-up of a new regional service for roughly three years to incentivize shared services. Pauline described how Marlborough and a neighboring town identified a shared staffing need and plan to use an RPIP-funded trial to test a shared finance director arrangement.
A motion to approve the resolution was made and seconded and the board approved the application by voice vote.
