Board praises 'data workshop' showing upward academic trends

Board members on Jan. 13 recapped a December "data workshop" that examined academic performance, social-emotional learning (SEL) indicators and community survey input. The board president described the session as a semiannual deep dive that included administration, building principals and other staff.
Trustees said the presentation made complex metrics accessible and useful for planning. One trustee thanked staff for explaining testing and performance data and for connecting those findings to actionable interventions. "While it's somewhat easy to get lost in the numbers, we do a wonderful job of sort of sorting that, organizing giving us something meaningful that we can look at," the board president said.
The board noted upward academic trends in Milton, acknowledged remaining improvement areas, and credited staff for outlining action plans to address gaps. Trustees said the workshop will inform staffing and program decisions in spring staffing projections and that future sessions will continue to blend academic, SEL and community data for planning.
