Council members voted to provide $500,000 for street maintenance work using chip-seal and microseal techniques and approved the city’s share of an ODOT resurfacing project, increasing appropriations by $339,770 to cover the city’s estimated 20% match. Council also approved a $275,000 appropriation to replace a 2008 dump truck for the street department and smaller transfers to buy turnout gear and radios for the fire department and tablets for dispatch compatibility.
The council added $150,000 in contingency funds to the police-station budget after contractors encountered poor soil and debris during excavation. Safety-service staff said some interior and storm-sewer work is already underway and the additional appropriation is intended to avoid stopping construction for an emergency meeting.
