The board received routine business‑office and facilities updates and approved the evening’s resolutions before moving to executive session for personnel discussions.
Business‑office staff welcomed Shelley Dean as district treasurer, effective Sept. 1, and said external audit field work with MMB and Company is scheduled for Sept. 9. Tax bills are being processed and should mail the first week of September, the report said.
Facilities updates described several summer repairs and projects: removal of debris in the high‑school parking lot, a permanent repair to a severed electrical wire, cleared fire‑alarm panels, and installation work on the turf field. The board was told that the track remains delayed because of drainage issues and curing requirements — the turf should still be usable for September events but the track may not be ready until later or in April if temperatures require.
Personnel announcements included the promotion of Richard Hebert to groundskeeper and appointment of Robert Booker to a night‑shift vacancy at Abram Lansing. The director‑of‑facilities search has produced six candidates and a decision is expected by the Sept. 11 meeting.
By voice vote the board approved the resolutions listed on the 08/28/2024 agenda (consent items read into the record) and later voted to enter executive session to discuss matters 'leading to appointment, employment promotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal, or removal of a particular person' and terms and conditions of non‑union employees.
