Committee advances DynaTek building‑controls contract for Radnor Elementary; roof restoration tabled

Ken Morris presented agenda item 4.03 and recommended the committee forward a contract with DynaTek Controls to the board for approval of a building automation upgrade at Radnor Elementary School. Morris said the work continues the district's capital‑plan program to replace antiquated controls and is within the proposed budget.
The system would control HVAC, geothermal heat‑recovery, heat pumps, exterior lighting, domestic hot‑water heating and add power metering, monitoring and staff training. Morris told committee members the upgrade would allow smarter scheduling, demand‑response measures during peak electrical usage, and better equipment rotation to extend asset life: "We'll be able to monitor and make sure that this pump doesn't have 1000 hours and this one has 50 hours...we'll rotate them and make sure we get even wear," he said.
Timing and next steps Committee members accepted the staff presentation and agreed to place the DynaTek contract on the full board agenda next week for final approval. Separately, staff asked to pull and table agenda item 4.04 (Radnor Elementary roof restoration) until after the new year for additional review; the committee granted the request.
