Commission accepts multiple applications and approves minutes; next hearings set for Jan. 26, 2026

In other business on Dec. 8 the Town Plan & Zoning Commission accepted three applications and scheduled subsequent hearings.
The commission accepted a site-plan modification application by Farmington Motorsports for landscaping, buffer, drainage and parking improvements at 148 Brickyard Road and set a public hearing for Jan. 26, 2026. It also accepted a special‑permit and site-plan application by James W. Pannito for a barn/shed over 700 sq ft at 35 Mountain Spring Road and scheduled that hearing for Jan. 26, 2026. Finally, the commission accepted an application from Metro Realty Management to add the Scott Swamp Road Opportunity Zone (SSROZ), request a zone map change at 20 Scott Swamp Road for a 62-unit multifamily project, and noted related text edits referencing Conn. Gen. Stat. §8-30g; staff posted the map and text amendment materials to the clerk’s office.
Commissioners also approved the Nov. 12 meeting minutes and approved a corrected entry for Oct. 6 in the Oct. 27 minutes. The meeting adjourned after routine planner reports and a brief discussion about the state’s recent housing bill and Plan of Conservation & Development timing.
Next steps: the accepted applications will proceed to noticed public hearings on Jan. 26, 2026; staff will continue to post application materials and engineering comments online and in the clerk’s office.
