Residents urge support for Hope Partners, sidewalks and improved cell/broadband service

Dean D'Latch (29 Basswood Road) described Hope Partners of Farmington’s upcoming 'Hope’s Heroes' event on Friday, April 10 at Farmington Gardens, asked residents to nominate honorees and attend, and noted that Hope Partners is a longstanding local 501(c)(3) serving vulnerable residents. Marie Perouse (65 Forest Street, Unionville) described personal benefits from Hope Partners’ congregate meals and durable-equipment lending (walker, bed rail, shower chair), saying the programs reduce isolation and provide companionship.
Fred Tampasas (36 Carriage Drive) spoke in favor of the Meadow Road sidewalk proposed in the council’s strategic conversation, urged the town to nudge Frontier for updates on a stalled fiber run in his neighborhood (a spool of fiber has been hanging on a post for years), and supported exploring options to site a cell tower to address local dead zones affecting families. Tim Kelly (62 Westview) noted an error in the Jan. 20 meeting minutes that should be corrected and raised questions about the council's earlier debt-policy language and upcoming capital requests.
What’s next: Town staff will follow up on the Hope Partners event information and the residents’ infrastructure requests, and the council will review minutes corrections as requested by Mr. Kelly.
