Staff also announced two downtown events on Saturday — a farmers market (9 a.m.–1 p.m.) and a spring open‑air event (11 a.m.–6 p.m.) — and described an Oakland County Transportation grant that will fund a study of a potential road diet on North Main Street. The city council will consider approving the grant agreement and allocating the required match.
On individual projects, staff reported the old Pizza Hut site is subject to a court condition requiring the property owner to cover an exposed slab with soil/grass and to submit a site plan; staff expects a site plan submittal soon. Culver’s was reported to need a short extension of a temporary certificate of occupancy; staff said an extension of 30–60 days is likely given weather and supply delays.
Staff also noted ongoing engineering coordination (AEW) for infrastructure projects including water‑main work on West Maple and other planned construction; one planner said he will be absent for the June meeting and left staff coverage to a colleague.
