Clawson — The Planning Commission voted to schedule a joint workshop with City Council for Wednesday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. to continue discussion of proposed short‑term rental regulations. Commissioners and staff emphasized the workshop will be a discussion forum (no votes) and asked staff to compile a historical summary of prior meetings, council comments and staff recommendations for participants to review.
Commissioners discussed two possible dates (June 16 and June 18). Staff reported that, based on council feedback, June 18 would likely produce the greatest attendance from council members. One commissioner noted Juneteenth falls close to the selected date; commissioners acknowledged the holiday but chose June 18 so more council members could participate.
Staff said the meeting will likely be held in the community room and that staff will confirm whether the meeting can be streamed. The joint workshop will inform any further revisions to proposed ordinance language; subsequent steps include a public hearing before the Planning Commission, a recommendation to City Council, and the council’s statutory readings and votes.
