Public works director Tom Jensen presented a multi‑item slate of budgeted infrastructure and maintenance projects at the Feb. 23 meeting and asked the board to award contracts based on proposals that balanced price and risk.
Jensen recommended Water Well Solutions for a well‑house rehabilitation (best mid‑range bid to limit worst‑case overrun exposure) with an estimated cost of about $52,625.26. For Nixon Park he recommended work on infields and replacement/raising of backstop fencing and baselines; combined fencing and field restoration quotes produced an approximate total near $90,090.
The DPW overhead door replacement received a low qualified bid from Heartland Overhead Door at $69,925. Jensen also described a prefab bulk‑water filling station (Ferguson) estimated at $43,732 to replace a difficult truck‑turning area outside the shop and make bulk water available via credit‑card or account PIN. Staff recommended awarding the sanitary sewer cleaning and televising contract to Visisewer at quoted unit prices.
Trustees were told all projects were included in the 2026 budget and that most bids were lower or in line with expectations. The board moved, seconded and approved the contract awards as presented; staff will proceed to execute agreements and schedule work.
