Rexburg council approves several service agreements and contract amendments for airport, roads and wastewater projects

The Rexburg City Council voted to approve multiple professional agreements and a contract amendment affecting airport environmental review, a transportation feasibility study and wastewater infrastructure.
Council approved a $448,138 professional services agreement with Dura to conduct an environmental review of a proposed airport site and potential BLM land swap; the city's share was described as roughly 10 percent (shared with the county) and funding will come from an existing project reserve. Justin Beard presented the item and council approved the contract by voice vote.
The council also approved a $90,000 agreement with Forrest Green Associates to conduct a feasibility study for extending 5th West from the fairgrounds across the river to the cemetery; the study will be funded 100 percent by the Thriving Communities program and staff negotiated a timetable to deliver information in time for a grant application due January/February.
Separately, the council approved an amended scope with JUB Engineers for the Riverside Lift Station to enable a new line north to Sugar City with an amendment amount of $209,900; staff said the work is budgeted and scheduled for bidding while groundwater is low.
Council also authorized surplus and sale of several recreation and fleet items (including ice skates and a 1992 Ford F-150) after staff explained recreational program priorities and the condition of the existing rink.
