District staff told the board the district will hold vaccine clinics with the Delaware County Health Department, track student mental-health services through the Panorama platform, and launch online pre-registration while keeping in-person options available.
District staff and board members discussed pupil services at the Feb. 19 Chester-Upland School District board meeting, focusing on vaccinations, mental-health supports and online registration.
Dr. Wilson described partnerships with the Delaware County Health Department to run vaccination clinics at middle and high schools. He said flyers have been sent home and will be posted on the district website and that parents must return signed consent forms for their children to receive immunizations at the clinics.
"Parents just have to have the signed consent forms returned," Dr. Wilson said, noting staff will also provide physical copies of flyers for board members to distribute. He added that students enrolled in CTE programs will have access to CareerLink in early March, with presentations on college and career readiness and resume support.
On mental-health services, staff said the district uses the Panorama platform to track supports and referrals and that both internal staff (social workers) and external partners provide services. Dr. Wilson said social workers can make same-day appointments at specific sites and that surveys and platform notes help the district understand needs and service delivery.
On registration, board members confirmed that online pre-registration will open Monday while in-person registration remains available; school secretaries and a central registration staff member will verify residency and complete registration steps.
No board vote was taken on these items; staff said more detail and supporting materials will be provided in future materials.
