The Meriwether County Board of Commissioners approved a budget amendment on Feb. 24 to reallocate $1,088,903 within Fund 541 (site improvements) to a repaving account to finance in‑house paving work, finance presenter Tammy Lackey said.
Lackey told the board the current Fund 541 site improvements balance is $1,530,101 and that reallocating $1,088,903 would leave a balance of $441,198. Staff explained the transfer aligns accounting with the work already approved for in‑house paving and that the amendment requires chairman and finance director signatures to execute.
A commissioner confirmed the reallocation was to move budgeted dollars into the correct account for work previously authorized. A motion to approve the amendment was made and seconded; the chair called for all in favor and the motion carried (transcript records approval without a roll‑call tally).
The board allocated the funding to cover repaving expenditures managed by the county’s in‑house crew and directed staff to sign the necessary accounting documents.
