Papillion La Vista Community Schools trustees approved a district recommendation to enter a purchase agreement with Apple Computer Inc. for $1,341,600 to replace the existing staff MacBook Air fleet.
Technology staff presented the purchase as a standardization step tied to a change in mobile device management software and to maintain a uniform hardware profile across staff devices. "Recommendation is to make a motion to approve entering into a purchase agreement with Apple Computer Inc for the total purchase amount of $1,341,600 to replace the existing, staff fleet of MacBook Airs," the technology presenter stated during the meeting.
District staff said the financing schedule in the attachments lists three Apple-financed payments that align with the district's internal four-year refresh cycle. Trustees moved and seconded the motion and approved the contract by roll call.
Implementation notes: district technology services will finalize the purchase agreement and financing schedule and proceed with deployment and MDM configuration. Staff said future refresh cycles will continue according to the district plan.
