Valerie Monastro Nilscombe and engineering staff explained options to seek more funding (including increasing the New York Forward ask and applying for a county Complete Streets grant). Staff said if both grants are awarded at full amounts, the village's net additional exposure could be roughly $500,000; staff also described alternate scenarios if one or both grants are not awarded. Trustees questioned the scope differences, the need to replace full sidewalk lengths to install conduit and trees, and whether the application could be revised after the deadline; staff said the board could convene a special meeting or submit a resolution with a contingency cap.
After public comment supporting Ashford Avenue improvements, the board voted to approve the Complete Streets grant application seeking $2,426,582.50 with a local match and potential bond financing to cover the village share; trustees approved the submission unanimously.
