Summary
The Board of License Commissioners approved an all-alcohol restaurant license for Mangia Mangia Pizzeria at 678 Adams St., Unit 2, after hearing details on size, hours and parking. Board members noted a single letter of opposition and asked the applicant to schedule deliveries outside peak parking hours.
The City of Quincy Board of License Commissioners on Feb. 24 approved an all-alcohol restaurant license for TL Real Estate Investment LLC doing business as Mangia Mangia Pizzeria at 678 Adams St., Unit 2.
Attorney Luke Cassis introduced the application and described the premises as a street-level restaurant of about 1,780 square feet with seating for roughly 30 and a small bar. He said the proposed manager is Clifford Williams; Williams was not present. A representative who identified himself as Lou Casas said the restaurant will serve pizza and light Italian fare, operate roughly 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and to midnight on busy weekend nights, and will not offer live entertainment.
The applicant addressed parking and deliveries: Casas said the site has 27 on-site parking spaces and a contract for 20 additional spaces across the street. A board member questioned whether peak-hour deliveries could conflict with nearby businesses and residents; staff and the board suggested that the applicant schedule large deliveries after 7 p.m. where possible.
Chair members also noted that Counselor Hubley had held a community meeting on Feb. 19 and that one letter of opposition had been submitted and was made part of the record. The applicant said the team heard no substantive opposition at the community meeting.
After the discussion the board moved, seconded and approved the license by voice vote. Staff will issue the license and follow up on operational coordination with the clerk’s office and public-safety departments.
The board recorded that the applicant would coordinate delivery timing and parking details with city staff before opening.
