Miami Lakes Public Safety Committee selects version of new PSC logo, to submit to town for approval

The Town of Miami Lakes Public Safety Committee voted to adopt a first proposed design for its Public Safety Committee logo and asked staff to seek formal town approval before wider use.

The committee selected a design by committee assistant "Johnny" that combines police and fire imagery with the town seal, and agreed to remove a green-leaf element while keeping a central PSC identifier. "If they tell us no, Johnny, you cannot use that seal, I can come out with something that kinda shows Miami Lakes," one committee member said during the discussion. The committee then approved the design presented without the leaves and directed the designer to email town staff for review and final sign-off.

Committee members debated legal and branding limits on using the town seal. One participant said they had checked the town website and found no explicit prohibition: "I checked, and nowhere there says that we cannot use this," while others emphasized that final use remains subject to town management review. The committee asked the designer to provide alternative versions if the seal is restricted.

The logo vote concluded with the committee approving the version to be submitted for management approval. The motion was moved and seconded during the meeting and the committee recorded its approval on the record.

The committee's decision is procedural: final authorization for use of any town seal or official mark rests with town management. The committee agreed the designer will produce both the version with and without the town-seal ring so the group can pivot if the seal is disallowed.
