"We were able to give nearly 63,000 in discretionary grants," Westerben said, adding that membership has trended downward and the club will pilot a gift-card option to simplify membership delivery. She said an "unfundraiser" direct-ask raised about $2,000.
Westerben outlined activity and athletic grants the Booster Club funded, scholarships awarded to four students this year and support for nonathletic activities such as Best Buddies and teacher-appreciation efforts. She said the club will explore online auction-style fundraising and will look into community partnership nights with local businesses to boost revenue.
Superintendent Unidentified Speaker 2 noted the Booster Club’s grant supported robotics programming; the board planned to view a robotics team demonstration set up after the meeting. The presentation concluded with board members thanking the Booster Club for its volunteer work and student support.
The Booster Club presentation provided both a summary of the club’s finances and specific initiatives the board said help students directly, including scholarships and program grants. The board took no formal action on the presentation.
