The South Berwick Town Council convened a public hearing on the downtown Landing Trail revitalization plan and heard support from the Great Works Regional Land Trust.
Jill Crosby, stewardship director for Great Works Regional Land Trust, told the council the organization has worked on the project for a long time and holds an easement on land along the proposed trail. "We've been working on this project for a long time. There's a lot of support for it," Crosby said, adding the trust has coordinated with the sewer district and nearby subdivisions in outreach. No other speakers came forward and the council closed the public hearing.
The council did not take an immediate vote on the plan during this meeting; the hearing provided the public an opportunity to comment as staff and council continue planning work.
