Senate Rules committee gives do‑pass to resolution honoring Senator Aaron Woods

Sean O'Neil, mayor of Wilsonville, told the committee he had known Woods for about a decade, described Woods as "thoughtful, measured and focused on practical solutions," and asked the committee to support the resolution on behalf of Wilsonville.
Several former staff and campaign aides offered personal testimony. Latonya Blanco, who identified herself as a former chief of staff to Senator Woods, presented a photograph and recounted Woods's habit of striking up conversations while traveling. Shane O'Brien, who said he was Woods's former campaign manager and chief of staff, read prepared testimony describing Woods's leadership style and asked the committee for its support.
Greg Leo, also testifying in support, called for a "do pass" recommendation. After the public testimony the committee opened a work session and an unidentified senator moved to advance SCR 206 to the Senate floor with a "be adopted" recommendation. The clerk then conducted a roll call: Senator Golden, Senator Manning, Senator Patrick, Vice Chair Star, and Chair Johnson recorded "Aye." Chair (speaker 2) announced the motion passed. The chair asked Senator Wagner to carry the measure to the floor.
The committee’s action was procedural: SCR 206 was given a favorable recommendation to move to the full Senate for final consideration. No amendments or changes to the text were recorded during the committee work session.
