The Norwalk Planning & Zoning Commission approved a coastal site plan permitting construction of a two-story, roughly 2,300-square-foot single-family residence at 4½ Seaside Place.
Applicant Keith Kavanaugh said the lot—he described it as family-owned and about "200 feet to the water's edge"—will host a beach-style, three-bedroom house with a two-and-a-half car garage. Architect Joe Maddow and site engineer Wayne Davanzio joined the presentation.
Staff noted the property lies approximately 200 feet from coastal resources and that, under current regulations, similar single-family builds at that distance could previously be exempted. Amelia from staff told the commission: "the property is 200 feet away from any coastal resources." The Department of Public Works raised questions about the private sewer lateral serving the lot; staff added a condition clarifying that the applicant must obtain the legal right to connect to the private sewer.
Commissioners moved and approved the draft resolution with that additional condition; the vote was recorded by roll call.
