Attorney Liz Sachi, representing property owners Kristen and John Maloney, updated the commission on a pending two‑lot subdivision for 5 Witch Lane during the Feb. 24 meeting. Sachi said the team met with city staff and shared a revised plan that locates a dwelling on the eastern side of the brook and increases the buffer between the house and the watercourse.
Sachi said the applicants are working with planning and zoning on outstanding issues including ownership of an adjoining right of way and that additional revisions will address concerns raised by public works. If needed, the applicants indicated they will seek an extension of the commission’s review period so the item can remain on future agendas while they finalize materials.
Sachi told the commission the return submission will include an analysis of wetlands present at the site, an assessment of their values and options for any impacts related to the proposed work. Staff noted the commission has not yet determined whether the proposal constitutes a significant regulated activity that would require a public hearing and that timelines for a public hearing (if required) would be set by statute and the commission’s permit deadlines.
The commission acknowledged the update and Sachi said she would work with staff on any necessary extension requests and on providing the wetlands analysis when the application returns for review.
