Neighborhood asks Redondo Beach to unbundle simple curb painting to improve bus-stop visibility

"We just want to extract the simple maneuver of painting the curb out so that we would have, you know, safe visibility for everyone who uses that," the speaker said, describing repeated parking in front of the bus stop, wrong-way drivers and illegal U-turns that reduce visibility and contribute to late-night disturbances at the shelter.
The resident said the change had been part of a larger bundle of recommendations to Public Works and asked staff and the city attorney to consider handling the curb painting separately so the neighborhood safety measure can move forward faster. Staff acknowledged the recommendation had been previously made to Public Works and noted the request would be considered in coordination with department procedures.
The request was raised during the public-participation section; commissioners did not take formal action on the item during the meeting.
