Robitaille said Paxton serves about 418 students, with 35% receiving meal benefits and 12% of the student body identifying as Native American. She recounted the school’s history (building dates and bond-funded expansion) and explained that Paxton discontinued a Spanish-language immersion model in 2022; staff have retained Spanish-speaking teachers and offer grade-level Spanish exposure.
Students Boston Anderson and James Ewold described hands-on programs: arts-integrated projects, a trailblazer classroom where older students mentor younger learners, junior math counts, and a small robotics starter program. Robitaille highlighted volunteer engagement—rock-climbing units in PE, a large PTA, and the Panther Press student newsletter.
On academics, the principal showed math-growth data, saying the school’s fall-to-spring typical-growth rates are in the mid-50s (above a 50% national benchmark) and that targeted “stretch growth” work is underway to close achievement gaps.
Trustees praised the school’s volunteer base and requested more materials in board packets to summarize educational relevance and safety procedures for programs. There was no formal action attached to the presentation.
