The Chattanooga City Council voted on Feb. 24 to approve two ordinances closing and abandoning portions of unopened rights of way and to adopt a package of mayoral resolutions, including appointments and an interlocal agreement.
Clerk read Ordinance 7a to close a portion of unopened right of way in the 4200 block of Bonny Oaks Drive and Ordinance 7b to close an unopened right of way in the 400 block of Maplewood Avenue, each "subject to certain conditions." A motion to approve the two ordinances as a package was seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and announced the motion passed.
In the same package, the council confirmed Mayor Kelly's appointment of Richard Sledge to the passenger vehicle for‑hire and record board for a term beginning Feb. 25, 2026 and ending Feb. 24, 2029, and confirmed Donna Shepherd to the tree commission for a term beginning Feb. 25, 2026 and ending Feb. 24, 2030. The council also approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an interlocal agreement with the city of Collegedale related to property at 8883 Oldley Highway to facilitate an annexation petition by Versailles Land and Development Company LLC. The clerk presented the interlocal agreement as "attached as exhibit A" to the resolution.
Each item in this package was approved on a voice vote; the transcript records affirmative "Aye" responses and the chair's announcement that the motion passes. No roll‑call vote totals were recorded in the meeting transcript.
