La Marque staff outlines 2026 events calendar and seeks sponsors for Juneteenth and Liberty Day

Colleen said the Civic Academy will launch this summer and that the city has a three-year, fully funded contract with the La Marque Chamber of Commerce.
Council and staff discussed sponsorship strategy for marquee events such as Juneteenth and Liberty Day and the importance of tracking event expenses in identifiable line items so potential sponsors can see costs. Colleen said the events office lacked historical account numbers for some events but is working with finance to track costs per event going forward.
