Julie (Speaker 12) presented a draft reclassification of co‑curricular stipends intended to make advisor and coach pay more internally equitable after many years without adjustments.
The plan groups clubs and athletics into roughly three main categories instead of the existing larger set, offers incremental stipend increases tied to years of service so coaches accumulate higher pay over time, and aims to ensure that no coach would earn less than they do currently. Julie said most coaches would see a substantial increase based on the proposed placements and that the district plans to issue 2026–27 contracts under the new structure if adopted.
Board members asked where robotics and outdoor education would fall; Julie confirmed robotics should be added to the list and noted outdoor ed will be considered. Members urged additional longevity tiers (for coaches with 11–15, 15–20, 20+ years), clarity on assistant‑varsity classifications, and consideration of additional compensation for extended postseason travel or tournaments. Julie said the district would share the draft with coaches, allow appeals for reclassification, and consider a three‑year rotation for periodic review.
