Council sets March 31 hearing for special-assessment bond covering neighborhood improvements

Finance Director Matt Kane told the council that staff had identified six subdivisions that are completed or nearly completed and 13 petition projects with total final project costs that would be financed by a new bond, roughly $4.9 million. The council adopted a resolution to set a public hearing for March 31, 2026, to consider bonding and levying special assessments for those projects.
Kane said bonding is the first step to allow the city to levy the special assessments in 2027. The council approved the resolution unanimously and set the March 31 public hearing date.
