Dobbs Ferry proclaims Nov. 18 as Liz Draper Day; mayor marked final meeting

Mayor Vincent Rossello opened the Nov. 18, 2025, Board of Trustees meeting by reading a proclamation honoring village clerk Liz Draper for her service as a United States Marine and as Dobbs Ferry village clerk since 08/12/2003. The proclamation noted Draper’s long-term volunteer work with toys-for-tots programs and cited awards including placement on the national General Code Clerk honor roll and the New York State Clerk of the Year distinction for 2025. Rossello proclaimed November 18, 2025, “Liz Draper Day” in the village of Dobbs Ferry and extended the board’s appreciation for her service.

Draper, appearing at the dais, called the recognition “a big honor” and thanked colleagues, staff and volunteers for their support. Members of the board and attendees applauded and noted Draper’s role organizing village events and serving as registrar of vital statistics and development-corporation secretary.

The meeting also doubled as Mayor Rossello’s final Board of Trustees session after 15 years of municipal service, including three terms as mayor. Colleagues praised his leadership through crises, his emphasis on fiscal management and inclusion, and his steadying role on long-running infrastructure matters. Trustees presented Rossello with a plaque and several speakers thanked staff and volunteers for their support. Rossello closed his remarks by urging residents to stay involved in village affairs.

The board’s formal business that followed included multiple routine appointments, contract renewals and resolutions approved unanimously.
