Panther Foundation reports $159,000 from week-long giving and $4,044,000 Fund A Dream yield

The Panther Foundation reported fundraising totals the Spring Lake Park Schools Board said will support student programs and activities across the district.
Colleen Peterson, speaking for the Panther Foundation, said the week-long Panthers for a Purpose raised more than $159,000 through themed spirit days, dine-to-donate events and a silent auction with over 430 items. She said 231 people attended the Saturday evening event and 356 bidders participated from inside and outside the community.
Peterson also described a Fund A Dream project called the x factor that, she said, raised $4,044,000. She told the board that how that money will be distributed is still to be determined.
Board members and district leaders praised the volunteer committee and noted increased community reach, including bidders from across state lines. The foundation’s results were described as the largest Fund A Dream to date for the district.
