Board accepts MCSEA bargaining sunshine list; superintendent highlights job fair and community events

During the superintendent's report, Dr. Croft described recent school events, including Lunar New Year celebrations at Baker and a Payne Elementary enrichment activity called "Snow Day," and encouraged families to attend parent tours at Moreland Middle School on Feb. 26 and Mar. 2. He also announced a Moreland job fair on Mar. 11 aimed at recruiting general and special-education teachers and an MEF 5K community event on Mar. 28.
District staff said Moreland opened specified contract appendices for negotiation and asked the board to accept the union's sunshine list to begin bargaining; trustees approved the acceptance by voice vote. The superintendent characterized the sunshine list acceptance as a transparency measure and described the bargaining process as open to discussion of the listed articles.
The board concluded routine business, confirmed several March site visits and adjourned.
