Superintendent Robinson highlights back‑to‑school packets, dress‑code enforcement and community partners

Superintendent Dr. Robinson gave the board an update on back‑to‑school preparations and community partnerships. She said the district sent elementary and secondary packets to families with documents that will need to be signed and returned in the first week of school. "They were sent out today, or they're going out tomorrow," she said, and staff encouraged families to update residency information at the central office engagement center if addresses were incorrect.
Dr. Robinson told the board the district mailed letters over the summer reminding families the district will enforce its dress‑code policy this year and that administrators have discussed enforcement. She said the district began the school year with I Promise on Aug. 29 and highlighted a community event with the LeBron James Family Foundation.
The superintendent also described partnerships with the Driving School of Ohio that widened access to driver education: the district said partners covered scholarships and donated one older vehicle to a family in need. "Together, coupling scholarships and discounted rates, we were able to make driver's education more affordable, for 131 students," she said, and acknowledged the Kiwanis Club and an individual, Joe Riley, for supporting the donated‑car effort.
Dr. Robinson thanked United Way for support of the district's five family resource centers and encouraged families to use those centers for connections to basic‑needs, health and financial coaching. She closed by noting staff work on outreach materials and that board members had copies of a poem she reads regularly.
Board members asked follow‑up questions about packet distribution and residency documentation; staff said they would assist families at the engagement center to resolve address issues and ensure receipt of materials.
