The board amended the motion to require staff to publish the names of everyone who applies so the public would know the applicant pool.
The process motion was approved (roll call recorded as six yes and one abstention) and the board then moved to accept Mr. Perry's resignation. The acceptance motion passed by roll call with six yes votes and one abstention (Mr. Perry). Staff were directed to publish application instructions and to schedule interviews the week of Oct. 14.
No appointment was made at the meeting; the board said it would review applications, hold interviews and appoint a successor within the 10'to'30 day window the Ohio Revised Code allows.
