Chris said the selected vendor will work with the architecture firm Brooks Scarpa on construction administration; staff expects to execute the contract after the sunshine/intent‑to‑award period and to start shop drawings, permitting and material ordering. Crisitto estimated residents would start to see signs in early production phases with visible installations possibly by March, pending permitting and contractor schedules.
Board members pressed staff for a faster timeline and asked whether wayfinding signs would incorporate parking‑availability data. Staff said CRA-installed conduit was provided to accommodate parking technology but that the parking department will identify the parking system to integrate; signs on Dania Beach Boulevard will require FDOT permits, which may affect schedule.
Next steps: finalize contract after the sunshine period, hold a kickoff meeting with Brooks Scarpa and the contractor, prioritize fabrication of the easiest signs for early installation and coordinate permitting for FDOT‑controlled locations.
